5 min Hello at the desk, a glass of water and one short form on paper.

10 min The chair stays upright. Tell us what worries you, what hurts and when you last went.

15 min A small mirror and a light. We count your teeth out loud and say it before we touch anything.

5 min Only if we need one, and only after we tell you why. We show you the picture.

Plan

10 min Your plan on paper, with every price, the lowest and the highest. Nothing is booked until you say so.

Raise your hand and we stop

No questions asked, at any step. We agree the signal before we start, and we pause as long as you need.

Nervous? Take an hour

Questions before the first visit

Will the check-up hurt?

A check-up is looking and counting. If anything needs treatment, we tell you first, agree it with you and book it for another day.

Can I stop in the middle?

At any point. Raise your hand and we stop, then carry on only when you say so.

Can someone come in with me?

Bring whoever you like into the room: a partner, a friend or a parent.

I haven’t been in ten years. Will you give out to me?

We will not. Plenty of people come back after a long time; we start from where your teeth are today.

Do you offer sedation?

Gáire does not. If you need it, we tell you which practices in Kerry offer it.

What should I bring?

Your PPS number if you want to use PRSI, your medical card if you have one, and a list of any medicines you take.

If you tell us about your teeth or tick the nervous-patient box, that is health information: we use it only to plan your appointment and keep it in your patient record.
