Questions about fees

Why do some fees have a range?

A filling on a front tooth is quicker than one on a back tooth. Your written plan gives the exact price before anything is booked.

What is a Med 2?

A receipt your dentist fills in for non-routine treatment such as crowns, root canals or braces. Keep it and claim 20% back from Revenue.

Do I need my PPS number for PRSI?

Bring it to the visit. We check that you qualify before treatment, and you sign a consent form on the day.

Does the medical card work here?

In this demo, Gáire takes part in the medical card scheme (DTSS). A real practice says here whether it does and whether it has room for new patients.

Do you charge for the X-ray?

A small X-ray is €20 and only happens if we need it, after we tell you why.

Is the price on my plan final?

The written plan is the price. If something changes during treatment, we stop and tell you before going on.

Sample answers: a real practice writes its own.
